SINGAPORE – Earlier today (20th August) at 8.26am, a netizen took to the Facebook Group: COMPLAINT SINGAPORE to share with members of the public some photographs showing a flood underneath the flyover near IKEA Tampines.

He shared the photographs with the captions “Happening now.. Have a safe drive everyone.” It has already received 4000 shares since over 200 comments since the time of posting. For the past few days, we have been experiencing more rain than usual and bouts of heavy rain are likely to continue in the days to come.

When the photos were shared, people in the comments section had a field day particularly because of one person in the photos. A woman was photographed in the bottom left hand corner of the image above wearing what looks to be a straw hat (the kind worn in padi fields). Not a common sight in Singapore, read on to see comedic responses:

Jokes aside, flooding situations can be dangerous and there are likely to be road closures/reroutes. Cars are submerged and there’s higher risk of accidents due to the heavy rains and low visibility. Stay focused on the roads and drive safe everybody!
