Lucas from NCT issues apology letter as more allegations emerge, SM Entertainment releases statement on this

Lucas Wong Yuk-hei, more famously known as Lucas from NCT, is currently facing cheating and gaslighting accusations from fans who claim to have dated the pop-star. While the situation draws more media attention as more alleged evidence comes to light, the idol has released an apology letter.

Earlier today (August 25), Lucas took to his Instagram account to apologise. The letter handwritten in mandarin is as follows:

This is an English translation of the above apology letter:

“I am Lucas

I sincerely apologise to those who have been hurt by my wrong behaviour. I plead with you to give me a chance to apologise, I am really sorry.

At the same time, I sincerely apologise to the fans who have always been so supportive and cared for me. I am sorry for letting you down.

For the past few days, I have deeply reflected on myself and what I have done in the past. I am clearly aware of my mistakes and irresponsible behaviours and that I have failed my fans who have been supporting me this whole time.

Once again, I sincerely apologise to each and everyone who is disappointed by my actions.

I promise that this will never happen again and I will halt all my scheduled activities and have time to reflect on myself.

Lastly, I would like to apologise for the damage caused by my actions to my members, company staff, collaborative partners and all broadcasting station staff.

I am truly sorry.”

We apologize for causing concern due to our artist Lucas’s personal life.

We recognized the seriousness of this matter and have decided to to halt the release of all content for WayV’s Lucas and Hendery’s single “Jalapeño,” including the song and music video that were scheduled to be released on August 25 at 6 p.m. KST.

Lucas is deeply reflecting on having caused great pain and disappointment due to his wrong behavior, and the agency also feels responsible for our poor management of the artist.

We once again deeply apologize for causing concern to many people including fans with Lucas’s personal matters.”

Currently, the fans are divided on this matter. Some of them are asking that Lucas leave the band so as to avoid affecting the other members more than he already has. Other fans are supporting him, making the hashtag #WeLoveYouLucas trend on twitter.
