While many of us just want to hop on a plane and fly overseas without a care in the world, not all of us are actually prepared to do that right now. Even with Singapore slowly reopening its borders and forming Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) with other countries, many are still skeptical about overseas travel for leisure at this point in time. Then there’s also some of us who really want to but our bank account isn’t ready for a trip to the UK or anywhere outside of Singapore for that matter. So for now, why not check out places in Singapore that can make you feel like you’re overseas without actually having to do PCR tests, book a flight out and break the bank?

Ji Hotel

Love the iconic Japanese brand MUJI? This hotel will be right up your alley. While it is actually a hotel by one of China’s biggest multi-brand hotel chain management groups (Huazhu Hotels Group Ltd.) and not the actual MUJI chain of hotels, it shares strikingly similar minimalist characteristics. Located just three-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, it makes it very convenient to get around. There are 2 types of rooms at Ji Hotel, Superior and Deluxe. Not much of a difference between the two apart from the Deluxe room being more spacious. The best part about the rooms? 65′ TV with cable channels, free WiFi, complimentary mini bar and a traditional tea set for you to brew your own tea.
FYI: Because of the design of the bathroom, it’s perhaps more suited for a romantic staycay rather than a family one.
