Questions

7986. It’s the 4-digit code GIRO and FAST forms ask for. Its full name on ABS’s list of GIRO banks is CIMB Bank Berhad.
What is CIMB’s SWIFT code?
CIBBSGSG, or CIBBSGSGXXX where a form wants 11 characters (XXX is the head office). The SWIFT code, or BIC, is for money sent from overseas: give it with the bank’s name and the whole account number.
What is CIMB’s branch code?
No published rule: ask the bank. FAST, PayNow and the new GIRO don’t need one. UOB’s guide lists one for it: 001, Singapore Branch.
How many digits is a CIMB account number?
10 digits: savings start with 1, current with 2, by ABS’s FAST fact sheet. FAST and PayNow take the whole number, without dashes.
Does CIMB have an IBAN or a routing number?
No: Singapore banks don’t use IBANs, sort codes or routing numbers. For a transfer from overseas, give CIBBSGSG, the bank’s name (CIMB Bank Berhad) and the account number; within Singapore, FAST and PayNow need only the bank and the account number.
