⏳ Getting the live counts…
Don’t circle the carpark three rounds, ah. See how many lots are free at any HDB carpark right now, or at the ones nearest you.
⏳ Getting the live counts…
HDB puts two things on data.gov.sg: Carpark Availability, the live count of free lots at each carpark, and HDB Carpark Information, the list of its carparks with their addresses and details.
Only carparks with gantries count cars in and out. Coupon carparks, the open-air ones where you pay with the Parking.sg app or paper coupons, have no gantry to count with, so HDB has no live count for them. A handful of gantry carparks don’t send counts either, and now and then one stops for a while: the page then shows its last count and when it was.
Each carpark sends HDB its count about once a minute, and the line at the top says the time of the counts you’re seeing. The count is of lots, not of every car in the carpark, so it can be off by a few: with only a handful free, expect to hunt a bit. Season parking holders park in the same lots, so a carpark can look full to visitors at night.
HDB counts car lots (type C), motorcycle lots (type Y) and heavy vehicle lots (type H, for lorries and buses) separately. The big number is the car lots; motorcycle and heavy vehicle lots are listed under it where the carpark has them.
Under HDB’s free parking scheme, many HDB carparks are free on Sundays and public holidays from 7am to 10.30pm (a few only from 1pm). It’s per carpark, and about a quarter of them aren’t in it: each carpark’s details here say whether it is, and the page tells you when it’s free right now.
Short-term parking is parking by the half hour for visitors, as opposed to season parking. Most HDB carparks take it any time, but some only from 7am to 7pm or 7am to 10.30pm, and a few not at all. Night parking, yes or no, is HDB’s word on whether you can park there overnight, from 10.30pm to 7am.
The lowest headroom at the carpark’s entrance, in metres, from HDB’s list. Multi-storey carparks are usually around 2.15 m, so mind a van, a roof box or a bicycle rack on the roof. Where HDB doesn’t give a height (most open-air carparks have no barrier overhead), it isn’t shown.
No. 📍 Near me asks your browser where you are only when you tap it, and the distances to the carparks are worked out in this page. Your location isn’t sent to data.gov.sg, to us or anyone else, and isn’t put in the page’s address. What you type in the search box goes into the address (?q=) so you can share the answer, so type a block and street, not your unit number.
This page only has HDB’s carparks. Malls, condos and private carparks, and the URA and LTA carparks in town, aren’t in HDB’s data.
