Each course’s 10th and 90th percentile A-level grades (3 H2 / 1 H1, with GP and PW taken as C, turned into a UAS the same way as yours) of the students it offered places to in AY2025/26, published by the universities in January 2026. Not a cut-off: a tenth of those offered places had less, often through interviews, aptitude-based admission or other strengths, and this year’s will move.

How the University Admission Score is worked out

Each A-level grade is worth rank points, and an H1 subject (General Paper, Project Work, an H1 content subject or H1 Mother Tongue) is worth half an H2:

GradeABCDESU
H22017.51512.51050
H1108.757.56.2552.50

A-levels taken in 2025 or later: out of 70

A-levels taken in 2024 or earlier

Applying for AY2027, your UAS is worked out the old way, out of 90: GP (or H2 KI in place of GP and the H1 subject), three H2 subjects, your best 4th content subject at H1, and Project Work, with H1 Mother Tongue rebased in if it helps (out of 100, back to 90). That total is then weighted to the 70-point scale: 90 × 70 ÷ 90. From AY2028, everyone is on the 70-point scale and Project Work isn’t counted; H2 KI taken in place of GP counts as GP.

Mother Tongue

Singaporeans and PRs need one of these, under MOE’s Mother Tongue policy: O-level Higher Mother Tongue D7 or better; H1 Mother Tongue, General Studies in Chinese or H2 Mother Tongue Language and Literature at S or better; a pass in the ‘B’ syllabus; an MOE-approved language in its place; or an MOE exemption. Without it you can still apply and be offered a place, but you have to meet it, provisionally at NUS and before you graduate at NTU.

What the grade profiles say, and don’t

Each January, NUS, NTU and SMU publish their Indicative Grade Profiles (IGP): for each course, the grades of the students at the 10th and 90th percentile of those they offered places to in the last admissions exercise. The 2026 profiles are of the AY2025/26 intake, the first to be scored out of 70.

SUTD, SIT and SUSS

They don’t publish 10th and 90th percentiles. SIT and SUSS give the share of applicants offered places in each UAS or GPA band, and SUTD describes its students’ grades in words: most had an A or B in H2 Maths, with H2 Physics or Chemistry. Check them there.

Rules from the universities, checked on 2 Nov 2026: NUS’s A-level admission requirements, NTU’s general admission requirements and admissions FAQ, and the profiles themselves: NUS (January 2026), NTU and SMU (9 January 2026). A guide, not the universities’ word: check a course there before you choose.

Questions

How is the UAS calculated?

For A-levels taken in 2025 or later, add the rank points of General Paper (A is 10, B 8.75, C 7.5) and your three H2 subjects (A is 20, B 17.5, C 15): AAB with GP B is 20 + 20 + 17.5 + 8.75 = 66.25 out of 70. Your 4th subject and H1 Mother Tongue are added, and the total rebased to 70, only if that raises it.

What UAS do I need for NUS Computer Science?

In the 2026 profile, both the 10th and 90th percentile students offered NUS Computer Science had AAA/A: a UAS of 67.81 out of 70, or AAA with GP C at least. Poly students had a GPA of 3.81 to 3.98. It took 893 students. NTU’s Computer Science went from AAB/C (65.00) and SMU’s from AAB/B (65.00).

What grades do I need for medicine or law?

NUS Medicine, NTU Medicine, NUS Dentistry, NUS Law and SMU Law all had AAA/A at both the 10th and 90th percentile, a UAS of 67.81, and all interview or test their applicants. NUS Medicine took 286 students, NTU’s 189, NUS Law 252 and SMU Law 182.

Which courses have the lowest grade profiles?

In the 2026 profiles, NTU Civil Engineering (CCD/D, a UAS of 50.00 at the 10th percentile), then NUS Nursing and NTU Mechanical Engineering (CCD/C, 50.31), then NUS Architecture, NTU Electrical & Electronic Engineering, NTU Physics / Applied Physics and NTU Art, Design & Media (CCC, 52.50).

What poly GPA do I need for NUS, NTU or SMU?

The 10th percentile poly GPA went from 3.18 (NUS Nursing) to 3.93 (NUS Pharmaceutical Science) in the 2026 profiles; most courses were between 3.5 and 3.8. 16 courses took too few poly students to show one, among them NUS Law, NUS Dentistry and NTU Medicine.

How many university places are there?

NUS, NTU and SMU took up 16,432 places in these 77 courses in AY2025/26: 7,369 at NUS, 6,469 at NTU and 2,594 at SMU. NUS’s College of Humanities and Sciences took the most, 1,976, then NUS Engineering (1,259) and SMU Business Management (980).

Is Project Work still counted?

Not in the score, for A-levels taken from 2025: you need a pass in it to be admitted. For A-levels taken in 2024 or earlier, applying for AY2027, it still counts on the 90-point scale; from AY2028, not for anyone.

Does H1 Mother Tongue count?

Only if it raises your UAS. Added to the 70 points it makes 80, rebased to 70, so an A raises any UAS below 70, a B one below 61.25 and a C one below 52.5. You need Mother Tongue for the MOE requirement anyway, at S or better.

When are the next grade profiles out?

In January 2027, for the 2027 admissions exercise: the AY2026/27 intake, the first of the 2025 A-level cohort. This page will follow them.

Are my grades sent anywhere?

No. Everything is worked out in this page, and your grades and GPA aren’t sent anywhere, kept or put in its address.
