A poly GPA is each module’s grade point × its credit units, added up and ÷ all the credit units you’ve taken, fails included. These are Singapore Polytechnic’s grades. Ngee Ann, Temasek, Nanyang and Republic Polytechnic also grade out of 4.00, from A at 4.0 to F at 0, but their own grades in between and their extra ones (like SP’s D- and P) are in their student handbooks.

Questions

How is a poly GPA calculated?

Each module’s grade point (DIST 4.0, A 4.0, B+ 3.5, B 3.0, C+ 2.5, C 2.0, D+ 1.5, D 1.0, D- 0.5, P 0.5 and F 0.0 at Singapore Polytechnic) × its credit units, added up, ÷ all your credit units, fails included. A 4-unit A and a 4-unit B are (4 × 4 + 3 × 4) ÷ 8 = 3.50.

What poly GPA do I need for NUS, NTU or SMU?

In the 2026 grade profiles, the 10th percentile poly GPA went from 3.18 (NUS Nursing) to 3.93 (NUS Pharmaceutical Science); 39 of the 61 courses that showed one were between 3.50 and 3.80.

Which courses need the highest poly GPA?

NUS Pharmaceutical Science (3.93), NTU Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (3.89) and NUS Information Security (3.88), at the 10th percentile in 2026. Each course’s is in the table above.
