What year is an SPD car plate?
The SPD series first opened for bidding in October 2025. It was the newest series for 2 months, until SPE in December 2025. So a car with an SPD plate was registered in October 2025 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SPD plate?
No older than 1 year and 1 month (in November 2026), counted from October 2025, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SPD car’s COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in October 2025, when the series first opened for bidding, has its first COE running to about October 2035; one registered later, later still. After that it’s deregistered, or its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SPD?
SPE, which first opened for bidding in December 2025, then SPG in January 2026. Before SPD came SPC (August 2025).
