Questions
What year is an SKA car plate?
The SKA series first opened for bidding in October 2010. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SKB in January 2011. So a car with an SKA plate was registered in October 2010 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKA plate?
No older than 16 years and 1 month (in November 2026), counted from October 2010, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKA carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in October 2010, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about October 2020; one registered later, later still. So an SKA car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKA?
SKB, which first opened for bidding in January 2011, then SKC in April 2011. Before SKA came SJZ (June 2010).
What letter does SKA 1234 end in?
SKA 1234 A. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKA 1 L, SKA 88 L, SKA 8888 S. Check any SKA plate.
