Questions
What year is an SKC car plate?
The SKC series first opened for bidding in April 2011. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SKD in July 2011. So a car with an SKC plate was registered in April 2011 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKC plate?
No older than 15 years and 7 months (in November 2026), counted from April 2011, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKC carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in April 2011, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about April 2021; one registered later, later still. So an SKC car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKC?
SKD, which first opened for bidding in July 2011, then SKE in October 2011. Before SKC came SKB (January 2011).
What letter does SKC 1234 end in?
SKC 1234 P. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKC 1 B, SKC 88 B, SKC 8888 G. Check any SKC plate.
