Questions
What year is an SKE car plate?
The SKE series first opened for bidding in October 2011. It was the newest series for 4 months, until SKF in February 2012. So a car with an SKE plate was registered in October 2011 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKE plate?
No older than 15 years and 1 month (in November 2026), counted from October 2011, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKE carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in October 2011, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about October 2021; one registered later, later still. So an SKE car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKE?
SKF, which first opened for bidding in February 2012, then SKG in May 2012. Before SKE came SKD (July 2011).
What letter does SKE 1234 end in?
SKE 1234 D. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKE 1 R, SKE 88 R, SKE 8888 X. Check any SKE plate.
