Questions
What year is an SKJ car plate?
The SKJ series first opened for bidding in November 2012. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SKK in February 2013. So a car with an SKJ plate was registered in November 2012 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKJ plate?
No older than 14 years (in November 2026), counted from November 2012, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKJ carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in November 2012, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about November 2022; one registered later, later still. So an SKJ car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKJ?
SKK, which first opened for bidding in February 2013, then SKL in June 2013. Before SKJ came SKH (August 2012).
What letter does SKJ 1234 end in?
SKJ 1234 C. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKJ 1 P, SKJ 88 P, SKJ 8888 U. Check any SKJ plate.
