Questions
What year is an SKL car plate?
The SKL series first opened for bidding in June 2013. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SKM in September 2013. So a car with an SKL plate was registered in June 2013 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKL plate?
No older than 13 years and 5 months (in November 2026), counted from June 2013, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKL carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in June 2013, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about June 2023; one registered later, later still. So an SKL car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKL?
SKM, which first opened for bidding in September 2013, then SKN in January 2014. Before SKL came SKK (February 2013).
What letter does SKL 1234 end in?
SKL 1234 S. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKL 1 D, SKL 88 D, SKL 8888 J. Check any SKL plate.
