Questions
What year is an SKQ car plate?
The SKQ series first opened for bidding in August 2014. It was the newest series for 2 months, until SKR in October 2014. So a car with an SKQ plate was registered in August 2014 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKQ plate?
No older than 12 years and 3 months (in November 2026), counted from August 2014, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKQ carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in August 2014, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about August 2024; one registered later, later still. So an SKQ car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKQ?
SKR, which first opened for bidding in October 2014, then SKS in January 2015. Before SKQ came SKP (May 2014).
What letter does SKQ 1234 end in?
SKQ 1234 R. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKQ 1 C, SKQ 88 C, SKQ 8888 H. Check any SKQ plate.
