Questions
What year is an SKR car plate?
The SKR series first opened for bidding in October 2014. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SKS in January 2015. So a car with an SKR plate was registered in October 2014 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SKR plate?
No older than 12 years and 1 month (in November 2026), counted from October 2014, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SKR carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in October 2014, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about October 2024; one registered later, later still. So an SKR car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SKR?
SKS, which first opened for bidding in January 2015, then SKT in March 2015. Before SKR came SKQ (August 2014).
What letter does SKR 1234 end in?
SKR 1234 K. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SKR 1 Y, SKR 88 Y, SKR 8888 C. Check any SKR plate.
