What happens if Chinese New Year falls on a Sunday or a Saturday?

If a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the next day is a public holiday in lieu. If it falls on a Saturday, there’s no day in lieu for everyone, but MOM’s rule is that if it’s your day off (a Saturday in a five-day week), your employer must give you another day off or a day’s pay instead. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, MOE usually gives schools the Monday off.
