Take 1 day of leave (Thu 24 Dec, or Mon 28 Dec) for 4 days off in a row (Thu 24 Dec – Sun 27 Dec 2026); or 4 days of leave (Mon 28 Dec, Tue 29 Dec, Wed 30 Dec and Thu 31 Dec) for 10 days off in a row (Fri 25 Dec 2026 – Sun 3 Jan 2027). If a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the next day is a public holiday in lieu. If it falls on a Saturday, there’s no day in lieu for everyone, but MOM’s rule is that if it’s your day off (a Saturday in a five-day week), your employer must give you another day off or a day’s pay instead. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, MOE usually gives schools the Monday off.
