Count Singapore working days, add some to a date, and find the best days to take leave around the public and school holidays.
Never miss a long weekend: our Telegram bot, @liddat_bot, tells you a week before each public holiday, with the long weekend it makes and the day of leave that stretches it. Four weeks ahead it says which leave to apply for, and parents can get MOE’s school holidays too.

For primary and secondary schools, from MOE. 🎒 above: leave the kids are off school for too, or a long weekend in their holidays.
Greyed out: gone already.
Each row is the most days off in a row for that much leave, when it beats two days off per day of leave. A holiday on a Saturday doesn’t help a Monday-to-Friday week, so it isn’t planned around.

The dates are from MOM: Public holidays (checked 1 Nov 2026), and the weekend rules from Public holidays entitlement and pay. Greyed rows are days in lieu. All of them in one file: every holiday and day in lieu (CSV).
Depends on your job. Most offices work Monday to Friday, but many shops, factories and site jobs work a 5½ or 6-day week. Pick “Saturdays too” above and Saturdays count as working days (a half-day Saturday still counts as one).
On a Sunday: the next working day is a paid public holiday, which MOM names, like Monday 10 August 2026 for National Day. On a Saturday, if Saturday isn’t a working day for you: you get another day off or an extra day’s pay, whichever your employer gives.
Eleven a year: New Year’s Day, two days of Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Hari Raya Puasa, Labour Day, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Haji, National Day, Deepavali and Christmas Day. An employee covered by the Employment Act gets all 11 paid, and when one falls on a Sunday, the next working day is the paid holiday. (MOM)
Under the Employment Act, an extra day’s salary at your basic rate, or a day off in lieu instead. You and your employer can also agree to swap the holiday for another working day. You may lose the holiday’s pay if you’re absent without leave or a reasonable excuse on the working day before or after it. (MOM)
They’re added when they’re declared and MOM lists them, like Polling Day on 3 May 2025. Until then the count can’t know about them.
Not in the working days: school holidays aren’t days off work, so only public holidays come off. But MOE’s school terms and holidays are on the page, and the leave planner marks the long weekends in the school holidays and the term-time school holidays worth a day of leave.
Four a year, between the terms: a week in March, four weeks in June, a week in September, and about six weeks at the end of the year, from late November. In 2027 they’re 13 to 21 March, 29 May to 27 June, 4 to 12 September, and 20 November to 31 December. Schools also close on Youth Day (or the Monday after), Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day (primary schools) and the days off in lieu MOE names. (MOE)
Those are the years MOM has published. Some holidays follow the lunar or Islamic calendar, so later years aren’t fixed yet. The next year goes in when MOM announces it, usually around the middle of the year.
No. It’s all worked out in your browser. The dates go into the page’s address so you can share an answer, and that’s all.
