Questions
What year is an SJT car plate?
The SJT series first opened for bidding in June 2009. It was the newest series for 2 months, until SJU in August 2009. So a car with an SJT plate was registered in June 2009 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SJT plate?
No older than 17 years and 5 months (in November 2026), counted from June 2009, when the series first opened for bidding. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SJT carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in June 2009, when the series first opened for bidding, had its first COE run to about June 2019; one registered later, later still. So an SJT car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SJT?
SJU, which first opened for bidding in August 2009, then SJV in October 2009. Before SJT came SJS (May 2009).
What letter does SJT 1234 end in?
SJT 1234 L. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SJT 1 Z, SJT 88 Z, SJT 8888 D. Check any SJT plate.
