What year is an SCU car plate?
The SCU series came out in May 1998. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SCV in August 1998. So a car with an SCU plate was registered in May 1998 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SCU plate?
No older than 28 years and 6 months (in November 2026), counted from May 1998, when the series came out. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SCU carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in May 1998, when the series came out, had its first COE run to about May 2008; one registered later, later still. SCU 1234 P. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SCU 1 B, SCU 88 B, SCU 8888 G. Check any SCU plate.
