Questions
What year is an SCX car plate?
The SCX series came out in April 1999. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SCY in July 1999. So a car with an SCX plate was registered in April 1999 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SCX plate?
No older than 27 years and 7 months (in November 2026), counted from April 1999, when the series came out. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SCX carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in April 1999, when the series came out, had its first COE run to about April 2009; one registered later, later still. So an SCX car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SCX?
SCY, which came out in July 1999, then SCZ in October 1999. Before SCX came SCW (December 1998).
What letter does SCX 1234 end in?
SCX 1234 Z. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SCX 1 K, SCX 88 K, SCX 8888 R. Check any SCX plate.
