Questions
What year is an SCA car plate?
The SCA series came out in December 1993. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SCE in March 1994. So a car with an SCA plate was registered in December 1993 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SCA plate?
No older than 32 years and 11 months (in November 2026), counted from December 1993, when the series came out. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SCA carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in December 1993, when the series came out, had its first COE run to about December 2003; one registered later, later still. So an SCA car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SCA?
SCE, which came out in March 1994, then SCF in June 1994. Before SCA came SBZ (September 1993).
What letter does SCA 1234 end in?
SCA 1234 U. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SCA 1 G, SCA 88 G, SCA 8888 L. Check any SCA plate.
