Questions
What year is an SCE car plate?
The SCE series came out in March 1994. It was the newest series for 3 months, until SCF in June 1994. So a car with an SCE plate was registered in March 1994 or later: a number can be bid for after its series opens, or kept from an older car, so the car can be newer than its plate, never older.
How old is a car with an SCE plate?
No older than 32 years and 8 months (in November 2026), counted from March 1994, when the series came out. It can be younger: the plate only says when the number came out.
When does an SCE carโs COE end?
A COE lasts 10 years from registration, so a car registered in March 1994, when the series came out, had its first COE run to about March 2004; one registered later, later still. So an SCE car still on the road has had its COE renewed for 5 or 10 more years at the Prevailing Quota Premium: see the latest COE prices and PQP, and the PARF and COE rebates for scrapping it.
What comes after SCE?
SCF, which came out in June 1994, then SCG in September 1994. Before SCE came SCA (December 1993).
What letter does SCE 1234 end in?
SCE 1234 Z. The last letter is a checksum worked out from the prefix and the number: SCE 1 K, SCE 88 K, SCE 8888 R. Check any SCE plate.
