In the 2025 S1 posting exercise (for Sec 1 in 2026), New Town Secondary School’s cut-off point was 20 for Posting Group 3, 25 for Posting Group 2 and 30 (it still had places after posting) for Posting Group 1. The cut-off point is the PSLE Score of the last student posted there: the lower the score, the better.
In 2025, a score of 20 or better in Posting Group 3 got a place; the best score posted there was 14. This year’s cut-off point moves with this year’s cohort and choices, usually by a point or so, and at the cut-off itself tie-breakers decide: citizenship, then the order the school was chosen in, then a computerised ballot.
