What CEA’s register tells you
Every property agent (CEA calls them salespersons) must be registered with the Council for Estate Agencies and work for a licensed estate agency. The register gives each one’s registration number, the agency and its licence number, and the dates the registration runs from and to. An agent has to show their registration number on their name card and in every ad.
CEA also publishes every deal its agents close: an HDB resale or rental, or a private sale or rental, with the month, which side the agent acted for (seller, buyer, landlord or tenant) and the HDB town or private district. Each agent’s page here counts them: by year, by kind, by side and by place. CEA doesn’t publish prices, commissions or reviews, and neither does this page.
- A registered agent can be with only one agency at a time. If the name card says another agency, ask why.
- Deals are counted for each agent on a deal, so a deal with an agent on each side counts once for each.
- Disciplinary records aren’t in the open data: CEA’s public register shows them.

How do I check if a property agent is registered?
Type their name or registration number above. Everyone on CEA’s register today is listed, with their agency. If they’re not there, check CEA’s public register before you go further: only a registered salesperson working for a licensed agency may act for you when you buy, sell or rent property.
What is a CEA registration number?
The number CEA gives each salesperson: R or P, six digits and a letter, like R012345A. It stays with the agent when they move agency. Agents have to show it on their name cards, ads and listings.
How many property agents are there in Singapore?
38,638 salespersons with 1,017 estate agencies are on CEA’s register (6 Nov 2026). PropNex Realty has the most, then ERA Realty Network and Huttons Asia.
Where do the deal counts come from?
CEA’s Salespersons’ Property Transaction Records on data.gov.sg: every HDB resale and rental and every private sale and rental closed through an agent since January 2017, updated monthly. Each agent on a deal has it counted, with the side they acted for. It doesn’t include commercial or industrial property, or deals done without an agent.
Does a busy agent mean a better agent?
Not necessarily. The counts show how much an agent has done and where, which can tell you whether they know your town or your kind of deal, but they say nothing about service, price or conduct. Meet a few, ask questions, and check CEA’s public register for disciplinary records.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The register is loaded into your browser and searched there. What you type goes into the page’s address so you can share the answer, as agents’ names and numbers are public.
